1) Many people read your articles, and allot of them look up to you for guidance and as sort of a hero, who inspires YOU most in your work and causes?

I am not a hero, and many people dislike my writing and point of view intensely. I am inspired by great writers before me..Thomas Paine, H.L. Mencken, I.F. Stone, specifically. I love writers who have strong opinions and aren't afraid to express them

2) When you feel the need for that extra few hours of waking, what is your prefered method to induce anti-sleep?

Coffee. I love it. And loud music.

3) What do you think is the greatest hurdle the 'net and its community face?

I think the greatest threat to the Net is corporatism, the big, powerful and often quite greedy companies who are thundering online and filing copyright, patent and other kinds of lawsuits that will have the impact of making the Internet less free and open.

I think the Net is in danger of being over-commercialized. Government isn't regulating this companies..AOL/Time-Warner comes much to mind, and this is going to be huge problem over the next decade.
